Meta Cancer for local health magazine / Editorial Photoshoot

Life brings some amazing & inspiring people into world. Recently I was contacted by a local health magazine to take photos for an upcoming article about Nicole, featuring her battle with stage IV colorectal cancer. At the time she was cancer free and felt healthy and vibrant. She was happy and joyful as we worked to capture photos of her and husband Matt along with the family dog, Carson and Nicole’s parents. It was such a fun session. As I did some research for this post, to my sadness I found more recent news stating that the cancer had come back shortly after our session. The article written by John Koop of Philly Voice states “The cancer had returned to her liver. And she had new spots on her bladder and ovaries. Now, she's back on chemo and praying to be a survivor – again.
Still, Obenski said she has gained greater perspective on life and learned how to live in the moment. For her, that has included fundraising for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance and sharing her story publicly – all in hopes that others can avoid a bout with cancer.” Thinking of you sweet Nicole and family. 💜
